Rodriguez gives the Yorkton Cardinals late push to beat the Okotoks Dawgs, 3-2

Francis Rodriguez drove in the go-ahead run to give the Yorkton Cardinals (7-10) the lead in the sixth inning, as the Yorkton Cardinals hung on to beat the Okotoks Dawgs (9-7) 3-2 on Saturday.

Mike Perry to start the sixth. He then went from second to third on an RBI single by Brett Smith. Finally, Rodriguez came to the plate with the score tied at one, and, scoring Perry.

The Yorkton Cardinals held off the Okotoks Dawgs, as the Okotoks Dawgs were unable to overcome a two-run sixth inning deficit.

The Okotoks Dawgs scored one run in the eighth on an error. Unfortunately, the Okotoks Dawgs weren't able to take the lead back.

Logan Hershenow got the win, running his season record to 2-1. He allowed two runs over seven innings. He struck out nine, walked three and surrendered seven hits.

Hunter Herdt (0-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just six innings, walked three, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
