The Traverse City Beach Bums (40-22) beat the Windy City ThunderBolts (35-26) 11-3 on Thursday at Standard Bank Stadium after a seven-run explosion in the sixth inning.

Jose Vargas had a busy day at the plate, collecting three extra-base hits. He homered in the fifth inning and doubled in the sixth innings.

The Traverse City Beach Bums relied on Jacob Clem to eat up innings en route to the win. Clem allowed three earned runs, seven hits and no walks while striking out seven over nine innings of work.

Chad Cregar put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Windy City ThunderBolts. He doubled in the first inning and homered in the sixth inning.

Blayne Weller was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked six, struck out seven, and allowed four runs.

The Traverse City Beach Bums were sparked by Sean Gusrang and Chase Burch, who teamed up for eight hits and seven RBIs.
