Three first-inning runs helped the Traverse City Beach Bums (60-29) to a 6-2 win over the Lake Erie Crushers (50-39) at All Pro Freight Stadium on Saturday.

Kyle Eveland did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Traverse City Beach Bums, reaching base three times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the second inning and homered in the eighth inning.

The Lake Erie Crushers couldn't get anything going as long as Bennett Whitmore was pitching. The Lake Erie Crushers managed just three hits off of Whitmore, who allowed one earned run, walked five and struck out two during his six innings of work.

Russell Moldenhauer went a perfect 2-2 at the dish for the Lake Erie Crushers. He singled in the fourth inning and homered in the ninth inning.

Paul Fagan couldn't get it done on the bump for the Lake Erie Crushers, taking a loss. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked five, struck out four, and allowed four runs.
