The Southern Illinois Miners (19-14) beat the Evansville Otters (13-20) 4-1 on Friday at Rent One Park, Marion, IL behind Darian Sandford, who went 0-3.

The Evansville Otters had no answer for Cody Hall, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Evansville Otters managed just one hit off of Hall, who allowed one earned run, walked none and struck out five during his four innings of work.

Luis Parache was hot from the plate for the Evansville Otters. Parache went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fourth inning.

Dan Marcacci looked sharp on the mound. The Southern Illinois Miners managed just three hits off of Marcacci, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four during his three innings of work.

Anthony Collazo improved to 3-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Southern Illinois Miners. Collazo struck out five, walked three and gave up one hit.

Garrett Bullock ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked six, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
