Sean Harrell went 2-3 as the Southern Illinois Miners (15-9) took home a 5-3 victory over the Traverse City Beach Bums (15-9) at Rent One Park, Marion, IL on Wednesday.

Shawn Gilblair got the win for the Southern Illinois Miners thanks to 10 strikeouts. Gilblair allowed three earned runs, four hits and two walks over six innings.

Marcus Nidiffer hit two home runs for the Traverse City Beach Bums. Nidiffer went 2-4 in the game with two RBIs and two runs scored. Nidiffer homered in the third and sixth innings.

Reid Kelly ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just seven innings, walked one, struck out seven, and allowed five runs.
