The Joliet Slammers (9-7) didn't stand a chance on Sunday, as the Washington Wild Things (6-8) captured a blowout 13-5 win at Silver Cross Field.

The Washington Wild Things scored six runs in the fifth on a two-run single by Robbie Garvey, an RBI single by Allen Boyer, an RBI double by Shain Stoner, and a two-run double by Michael Bando.

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to three lead changes in the game.

Mitch Dening racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Washington Wild Things. He homered in the third inning.

Casey Barnes got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed four runs over six innings. Barnes struck out one, walked two and gave up eight hits.

Tommy Mendoza (2-1) took the loss for the Joliet Slammers. He lasted just three innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
