The Florence Freedom fend off the Evansville Otters' late push, hold on 4-2

The Evansville Otters (45-49) were unable to fight back from the big hole they dug themselves into against the Florence Freedom (56-39), and the Evansville Otters lost 4-2 to the Florence Freedom after falling behind by three runs in the ninth inning.

The Evansville Otters scored one run in the ninth on an RBI double by Luis Parache. Still, the Evansville Otters couldn't draw even.

Brad Allen picked up the win for the Florence Freedom. Allen pitched eight innings and allowed one earned run, three hits and no walks while striking out three.

Matt Sheely was hot from the plate for the Evansville Otters. Sheely went 2-3, drove in one and scored two runs. He homered in the third inning and singled in the ninth inning.

Bryce Morrow (8-8) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just seven innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed two runs.
