The Evansville Otters (25-35) were never able to get over the hump and get over their troubles against the River City Rascals (31-29) on Monday, as the Evansville Otters fell 5-3 at Bosse Field after falling behind by five runs in the seventh inning.

The Evansville Otters scored three runs in the eighth on a two-run home run by Brett Chamberlain and a sacrifice fly by Luis Parache. Despite their efforts, the Evansville Otters couldn't finish the comeback.

Curran Redal racked up two RBIs on three hits for the River City Rascals. He singled in the fourth, fifth, and seventh innings.

The River City Rascals relied on Preston Vancil to eat up innings en route to the win. Vancil pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, four hits and one walk while striking out five.

Chamberlain racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Evansville Otters. He homered in the eighth inning.

Adam Champion ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked four, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
