Boxscore | Game Recap | Boxscore Text Version | Gamelive Version

The Gateway Grizzlies take out the River City Rascals with help from Davis, 5-3

Story by Narrative Science.

Logan Davis had two extra base hits as the Gateway Grizzlies (24-21) took home a 5-3 victory over the River City Rascals (20-23) in seven innings at GCS Ballpark on Saturday.

He homered in the fourth inning and doubled in the sixth inning.

The River City Rascals couldn't get anything going as long as Jon Pusateri was pitching. Pusateri held the River City Rascals hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

It was a good day at the plate for the River City Rascals' Robby Enslen. Enslen went 1-2, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fourth inning.

Will Landsheft recorded his third win of the year for the Gateway Grizzlies. He allowed three runs over five innings. He struck out four, walked two and surrendered five hits.

Austin Warner ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 3 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed five runs.

The Gateway Grizzlies were sparked by Davis and Sam Fischer, who teamed up for three hits and three RBIs.
