The Richmond Jazz (1-9) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Lake Erie Monarchs (4-6), recording an 11-1 victory on Tuesday at Flat Rock Field.

With 11 runs in the first three innings, the Richmond Jazz left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

An RBI single by Ried Pittard, a groundout by Cole Griesinger, and an RBI single by Slatter Rush in the first inning and , a single by Pittard, a sacrifice fly by Brennan Laird, and a solo home run by Bobby Thompson during the second inning fueled the Richmond Jazz's offense early.

Thompson racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Richmond Jazz.

Bryce Pennington picked up the win for the Richmond Jazz. Pennington allowed one earned run, five hits and three walks while striking out four over seven innings of work.

Antonio Jacobs (0-2) took the loss for the Lake Erie Monarchs. He allowed six runs in 1 2/3 innings, walked one and struck out two.
