An impressive effort by Roche Woodard hoisted the Roswell Invaders (14-8) to a 20-18 win in 10 innings over the White Sands Pupfish (10-14) on Friday at Griggs Park.
Woodard hit two home runs for the Roswell Invaders. Woodard went 3-5 in the game with five RBIs and four runs scored. Woodard homered in the fourth and fifth innings.
Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 38 total runs and 39 hits during the game. Both bullpens were busy with 10 pitchers used in the game as the skippers of both squads tried to finish it off.
Lance Fairchild improved to 4-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Roswell Invaders. He allowed one run over 2 2/3 innings. He struck out none, walked one and surrendered two hits.
Chris Stout ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
