Willie Ethington came off the bench and never even had to swing his bat as Ethington reached on a error in the nine to lead the Garden City Wind (5-8) to a 5-3 win over the Great Bend Boom (7-4) on Monday at Al Baird Field.

A bright spot for the Great Bend Boom in the defeat was Stephen Swagerty, who allowed only three runs while striking out seven.

Clay Ardeeser recorded his first win of the year for the Garden City Wind. He allowed one run over one inning. Ardeeser struck out none, walked one and gave up one hit.

Phillip Romos was charged with the loss. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
