The bats were busy at UC Health Stadium on Saturday, and when the dust cleared the Florence Freedom (26-33) had a 13-8 win over the Normal CornBelters (28-31).
The two teams combined for 22 hits in the game.
Isaac Wenrich racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Florence Freedom. He singled in the second inning and homered in the sixth inning.
The Normal CornBelters had no answer for Matt Pobereyko, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Pobereyko held the Normal CornBelters hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.
Patrick McGrath recorded his second win of the year for the Florence Freedom. He allowed four runs over six innings. McGrath struck out three, walked five and gave up seven hits.
Michael Schweiss (5-4) took the loss for the Normal CornBelters. He lasted just five innings, walked four, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
