The Yorkton Cardinals jump on the Melville Millionaires early and coast to 19-1 win

The Yorkton Cardinals (23-15) shut the door early on the Melville Millionaires (7-30), capturing a 19-1 victory on Tuesday at Pirie Field.

Fifteen runs in the first three innings allowed the Yorkton Cardinals to put the game away early.

An RBI double by Hunter Hisky, a two-run single by Luke Wilkinson, a hit by pitch, , a two-run double by Garrett Fort, and a sacrifice fly by Cory Cantebury during the first inning and a two-run single by Garret Kizer, an RBI single by Fort, an error, and a two-run error in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Yorkton Cardinals.

Wilkinson racked up five RBIs on three hits for the Yorkton Cardinals.

Derek Marshall brought the heat against the Melville Millionaires during his outing. Marshall gave up just three hits, allowed one earned run, walked none and struck out three during his five innings of work.

Greg Carrington had a hot bat for the Melville Millionaires. Carrington went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the seventh inning.

Luke Lucas improved to 2-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Yorkton Cardinals. Lucas struck out three, walked none and gave up one hit.

Trayson Kubo (0-4) took the loss for the Melville Millionaires. He allowed eight runs in one-third of an inning, walked three and struck out one.

The Yorkton Cardinals hammered the Melville Millionaires pitching as six hitters had a field day, combining for 14 hits, 13 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
