The Weyburn Beavers (10-9) shut the door early on the Yorkton Cardinals (10-9), capturing a 14-1 victory on Wednesday at Jubilee Park.
The game was decided quickly as the Weyburn Beavers exerted their will early with six runs in the first three innings.
An RBI single by Ty Scott, a home run by Zach Frazier, and an RBI single by Ulysses Fluellen during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Weyburn Beavers.Fluellen racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Weyburn Beavers.
The Weyburn Beavers got the win thanks in large part to Logan Lund's dominant, six-strikeout performance. Lund allowed one earned run, five hits and three walks over seven innings.
Jamie Whitehead was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed six runs in 1 2/3 innings, walked five and struck out three.
