The Herndon Braves (4-4) jumped out to an early lead on the SS-T T Bolts (3-4) and captured a 7-0 victory on Sunday at Herndon High School.
The game was decided quickly as the Herndon Braves exerted their will early with five runs in the first three innings.
A groundout by Alan Mocahbee and in the first inning and a fielder's choice and a groundout by Andy Mocahbee during the second inning helped the Herndon Braves put some runs on the board early.Cooper Mitchell racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Herndon Braves. He doubled in the third inning and homered in the sixth inning.
Aaron Eppard brought the heat against the SS-T T Bolts during his outing. The SS-T T Bolts managed just two hits off of Eppard, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five during his 3 2/3 innings of work.
Christopher Carroll pitched lights out for the SS-T T Bolts. Carroll held the Herndon Braves hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out two.
Hunter Medine was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
