The SW Oregon get key pinch-hit in 18-1 victory over the Walla Walla

Shevan DeFreitas was cold coming off the bench, but DeFreitas warmed up quickly as DeFreitas stroked a key pinch-hit single in the one to lead the SW Oregon (10-2) to an 18-1 win over the Walla Walla (2-8) on Saturday at Walla Walla Community College S.

With the SW Oregon leading by one, DeFreitas came to the plate and singled.

DeFreitas went a perfect 5-5 at the plate for the SW Oregon.

DeFreitas pulled double duty, leading the SW Oregon on both offense and defense in the win.

DeFreitas pitched lights out for the SW Oregon. The Walla Walla managed just three hits off of the the SW Oregon's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out two during his four innings of work.

Eight runs in the opening three innings allowed the SW Oregon to easily put away the Walla Walla. An RBI single by Ereanna Higbee and an RBI single by Brandi Bowling in the first inning and , a groundout by Tayler Finch, a single by Danielle Crocket, an RBI single by Higbee, and an RBI single by DeFreitas during the second inning helped the SW Oregon put some runs on the board early.

Mickenzie Mullins was charged with his third loss of the year. He allowed 15 runs in four innings, walked six and struck out none.
