A walk-off sacrifice fly from Michael Blatchford brought home the winning run for the Chillicothe Paints (15-16) in a 5-4 victory over the West Virginia Miners (18-13) in 15 innings at VA Memorial Stadium on Friday.
Blatchford racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Chillicothe Paints. He singled in the fifth and fourteenth innings.
The Chillicothe Paints were led by Nicholas Ryan's hitting. Ryan went 2-6, drove in one and scored one run. He tripled in the fifth inning and singled in the ninth inning.
Jake Horew got the win, running his season record to 1-1. Horew struck out three, walked one and gave up two hits.
James Doubet couldn't get it done on the hill for the West Virginia Miners, taking a loss. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed one run.
