The Springfield Sliders (18-13) and the DuPage Drones (16-16) both had scoring chances on Thursday, but it was the Springfield Sliders that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 7-5 win at Benedictine Sports Complex.

Victor Garcia was solid at the plate for the Springfield Sliders. Garcia went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the second inning and homered in the sixth inning.

Jake Roehn pitched lights out for the Springfield Sliders. Roehn held the DuPage Drones hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four.

Despite the loss, the DuPage Drones' Cody Smith dominated the Springfield Sliders' batters, giving up two runs and striking out six.
