Kennedy's walk-off single send the Lafayette Aviators home winners, 9-8

A walk-off single from Evan Kennedy brought home the winning run for the Lafayette Aviators (8-10) in a 9-8 victory over the Champion City Kings in 12 innings at Loeb Stadium on Thursday.

Kennedy was solid at the plate for the Lafayette Aviators. Kennedy went 3-6 and drove in one. He singled in the first, tenth, and twelfth innings.

The two teams combined for 17 runs and 31 hits, including zero extra base hits. There were 10 pitchers used in the game as the two managers searched for any way to finish it off.

Riley Benner had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the fourth and sixth innings and singled in the eighth inning.

Evan Warden improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Lafayette Aviators. He struck out five, walked one and surrendered one hit.

Conor Grove (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed one run.

Benner, Warden and Bryce Evans helped lead the Lafayette Aviators. They combined for seven hits and two RBIs.
