An outstanding effort by Derek Moore led the Chillicothe Paints (1-0) to a 2-1 win over the Terre Haute Rex (0-1) on Thursday at VA Memorial Stadium.

Moore baffled the Terre Haute Rex, striking out nine batters. Moore allowed one earned run on three hits and no walks over eight innings.

A walk-off single by Jake Horew gave the Chillicothe Paints the win.

Horew racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Chillicothe Paints. He singled in the ninth inning.

Niko Decolati was hot from the plate for the Terre Haute Rex. Decolati went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fourth inning and singled in the ninth inning.

Bryce Arledge improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Chillicothe Paints. Arledge struck out one, walked none and gave up one hit.

Thomas Waning couldn't get it done on the hill for the Terre Haute Rex, taking a loss. He lasted just 3 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed one run.
