The Schaumburg Boomers (12-14) and the Traverse City Beach Bums (9-16) both had scoring chances on Thursday, but it was the Schaumburg Boomers that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 2-1 win at Wuerfel Park.

The Traverse City Beach Bums had no answer for Evan Boyd, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Boyd gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his two innings of work.

Dylan Stoops was effective even in defeat, mowing down nine the Schaumburg Boomers batters and allowing one run.

Andrew Brockett couldn't get it done on the hill for the Traverse City Beach Bums, taking a loss. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
