Juan Avila went 1-4 and hit a home run, helping the Lake Erie Crushers (9-5) to a 3-2 victory over the Gateway Grizzlies (9-8) on Tuesday at All Pro Freight Stadium.

Fernando Gallegos baffled the Gateway Grizzlies, striking out six batters. Gallegos allowed no earned runs, three hits and one walk over seven innings.

Trevor Richards was effective even in defeat, mowing down nine the Lake Erie Crushers batters and allowing one run.

Mike Devine recorded his third win of the year for the Lake Erie Crushers. Devine struck out two, walked none and gave up no hits.

JaVaun West (0-1) took the loss for the Gateway Grizzlies. He lasted just zero innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
