Alvin Swoope had two extra base hits, sparking the Seacoast Mavericks (24-11) to an 8-3 victory over the Brockton Rox (15-21) on Friday at Leary Field.
He homered in the fourth innings and doubled in the second and eighth innings.Clayton Chatham pitched lights out for the Seacoast Mavericks. The Brockton Rox managed just one hit off of Chatham, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out seven during his five innings of work.
Bryce Tucker ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed six runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked two and struck out one.
The Seacoast Mavericks were sparked by Swoope and Michael Hart, who teamed up for four hits and two RBIs.
