Wyatt Segel went 2-4 and hit a home run as the Skagit Valley (22-15) took home a 4-0 victory over the Clark (16-20) at Skagit Valley on Friday.
He homered in the fifth inning and singled in the seventh inning.The Clark couldn't get anything going as long as Doug Knight was pitching. The Clark managed just one hit off of Knight, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his four innings of work.
Despite the loss, the Clark's Chase Vanek dominated the Skagit Valley's batters, giving up two runs and striking out six.
Jack Richter improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Skagit Valley. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered one hit.
Vanek ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fourth loss of the year.
