The Skagit Valley (10-9) beat the Douglas (3-7) 5-2 on Sunday at Whalley Little League Park behind Chris Lane, who had two extra base hits.
He doubled in the fourth inning, tripled in the seventh inning, and singled in the ninth inning.Brad Johnson put together a nice outing. Johnson held the Douglas hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.
Zach Campagne was effective even in defeat, mowing down six the Skagit Valley batters and allowing three runs.
David Stealy got the win, running his season record to 2-0. He allowed two runs over six innings. Stealy struck out three, walked none and gave up nine hits.
Campagne (0-2) was the game's losing pitcher.
Stephen Hansen, Joe Done and Lane helped lead the Skagit Valley. They combined for seven hits and two RBIs.
