Baldwin leads the Mt. Hood to 10-2 win over the Pierce

A superb effort by Madisen Baldwin led the Mt. Hood (13-3) to a 10-2 win in seven innings over the Pierce (6-9) on Saturday at Cirque Park.

Baldwin rocked the Pierce with two home runs. Baldwin went 4-4 in the game with four RBIs and three runs scored. Baldwin homered in the sixth and seventh innings.

The Mt. Hood blew out the Pierce thanks to 12 hits, including zero extra base hits. An RBI single by Rachel Rutledge and a three-run home run by Baldwin helped the Mt. Hood score four runs in the seventh. The Mt. Hood had five hits in the inning.

Kayla Byers baffled the Pierce, striking out five batters. The Mt. Hood's pitcher tossed three innings of shutout ball and allowed only four hits.

Emily Bishop was hot from the plate for the Pierce. Bishop went 3-4 and scored one run. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the fifth and seventh innings.

Kendal Cox recorded his third win of the year for the Mt. Hood. He allowed two runs over four innings. Cox struck out four, walked one and gave up five hits.

Bailee Bradley couldn't get it done on the bump for the Pierce, taking a loss. He allowed 10 runs in seven innings, walked one and struck out six.
