A superb effort by Chase Vanek hoisted the Clark (19-21) to a 7-2 win over the Linn-Benton (25-16) on Friday at Tigard HS.

The Clark relied on Vanek to eat up innings en route to the win. Vanek pitched nine innings and allowed one earned run, three hits and two walks while striking out six.

Brandon Zimmerman reached base four times in the game for the Clark. He scored one run and had two RBIs. He singled in the third innings and homered in the eighth innings.

David Wallum (7-3) took the loss for the Linn-Benton. He lasted just four innings, walked six, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
