The Linn-Benton get key pinch-hit in 8-2 victory over the Clackamas

Colton Cosner was cold coming off the bench, but Cosner warmed up quickly as Cosner stroked a key pinch-hit single in the two to lead the Linn-Benton (22-13) to an 8-2 win over the Clackamas (5-24) on Saturday at Clackamas Community College Sof.

With the Linn-Benton leading by two in the second inning, Cosner came to the plate and singled.

The Linn-Benton blew out the Clackamas thanks to 12 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Linn-Benton scored three runs in the second on the Linn-Benton scored in the second on a fielder's choice and a two-run single by Cosner.

The Linn-Benton were led by Ty Deckwa's hitting. Deckwa went 3-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the second, fourth, and sixth innings.

The Linn-Benton got the win thanks in large part to Ian Scott's dominant, nine-strikeout performance. Scott allowed one earned run on three hits and three walks over five innings.

Matt Fletcher couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Clackamas, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked two and struck out one.
