The Big Bend offense too much for the Green River in 16-6 rout

The Big Bend (11-1) jumped out to an early lead on the Green River (0-7) and captured a 16-6 victory on Sunday at Larson Playfield.

With 10 runs in the first three innings, the Big Bend left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

A two-run triple by Auggie Francis, a steal of home by Francis, an RBI single by Shane Layman, and a sacrifice fly by Bryan Wulf in the first inning and , an RBI single by Ryan Grening, , and a double by Cody Reilly during the second inning fueled the Big Bend's offense early.

Francis racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Big Bend.

Even though Sam Krapf allowed six runs over five innings he still recorded the victory, his third of the season. Krapf struck out four, walked four and gave up eight hits.

Matt Stuart (0-1) took the loss for the Green River. He allowed nine runs in two innings, walked three and struck out none.

The Big Bend easily handled the Green River pitching as eight hitters combined for 18 hits, 12 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
