Chandler Blanchard threw six scoreless innings, but it wasn't enough to carry the Orleans Firebirds (3-2) to a win on Friday, as the Orleans Firebirds fell to the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox (3-1) 2-1 at Red Wilson Field in 13 innings.

Ben Bowden pitched lights out for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox. The Orleans Firebirds managed just two hits off of Bowden, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five during his five innings of work.

Chad Hockin improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox. Hockin struck out two, walked none and gave up no hits.

Jared Carkuff couldn't get it done on the bump for the Orleans Firebirds, taking a loss. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed one run.
