Both the Baltimore Redbirds (2-0) and the Vienna River Dogs (1-2) put runners aboard on Tuesday, but it was the Baltimore Redbirds that were able to take advantage, pulling out an 8-5 win at Calvert Hall HS.

Logan Warmoth racked up five RBIs on two hits for the Baltimore Redbirds. He homered in the fifth inning and doubled in the seventh inning.

The Vienna River Dogs had no answer for Joey Sullivan, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Vienna River Dogs managed just two hits off of Sullivan, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out none during his 3 1/3 innings of work.

Shaun Wood racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Vienna River Dogs. He doubled in the sixth inning and singled in the ninth inning.

Jason Morgan improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Baltimore Redbirds. He allowed three runs over five innings. He struck out four, walked four and surrendered seven hits.

Mark Gunst (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked four and struck out two.
