The Lethbridge Bulls need extra frames to finish the Melville Millionaires, win 7-6

The Lethbridge Bulls (18-5) beat the Melville Millionaires (6-17) 7-6 but needed 11 innings to do so on Saturday at Spitz Stadium.

With the Melville Millionaires trailing by two in the ninth inning, Ryan Grotjohn came to the plate and singled, plating Shoma Sasaki and Zac Wilson.

It was a good day at the plate for the Lethbridge Bulls' Bretton Gouthro. Gouthro went 4-6 and drove in one. He singled in the second, seventh, ninth, and eleventh innings.

Reno Dupuis had an impressive outing against the Melville Millionaires' lineup. Dupuis held the Melville Millionaires hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one.

Chase Goldwater led the Melville Millionaires' offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He singled in the sixth and tenth innings.

Chris Stodolka improved to 3-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Lethbridge Bulls. Stodolka struck out one, walked one and gave up one hit.

Anthony Duen ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed one run.
