Adam Pate went 2-4 as the Harwich Mariners (18-20) took home a 3-1 victory over the Bourne Braves (19-19) at Doran Park on Wednesday.
He singled in the first inning and doubled in the seventh inning.The Bourne Braves had no answer for Zach Schellenger, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Schellenger held the Bourne Braves hitless over 2 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.
Shawn Heide put together a nice outing. Heide held the Harwich Mariners hitless over 2 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.
Nick Jensen-Clagg was charged with his fifth loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked none, struck out six, and allowed two runs.
