Jeren Kendall went 1-3 and hit a home run, helping the Cotuit Kettleers (15-23) to a 4-2 victory over the Orleans Firebirds (27-11) on Sunday at Lowell Park.
He homered in the fifth inning.The Cotuit Kettleers got the win thanks in large part to Daniel Brown's dominant, six-strikeout performance. Brown allowed no earned runs on four hits and two walks over seven innings.
Despite the loss, the Orleans Firebirds' Tanner Tully dominated the Cotuit Kettleers' batters, giving up one run and striking out five.
Chandler Blanchard ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed one run.
