The Chatham Anglers make the most of 6 hits in 5-1 victory over the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox

Both the Chatham Anglers (1-0) and the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox (0-1) put runners aboard on Tuesday, but it was the Chatham Anglers that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 5-1 win at Veterans Field.

Nate Mondou had a hot bat for the Chatham Anglers. Mondou went 3-4 and drove in one. He singled in the third, fifth, and seventh innings.

Brandon Miller had an impressive outing against the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox's lineup. Miller held the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.

The Chatham Anglers couldn't get anything going as long as Davis Tominaga was pitching. Tominaga gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one during his three innings of work.

Timothy Zeuch improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Chatham Anglers. He allowed one run over 5 2/3 innings. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered seven hits.

Brandon Bailey ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
