He singled in the sixth inning and doubled in the eighth inning.Kagen Hopkins brought the heat against the Washington Wild Things during his outing. The Washington Wild Things managed just three hits off of the the Schaumburg Boomers' pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked none and struck out three during his 5 2/3 innings of work.
It was a good day at the plate for the Washington Wild Things' David Popkins. Popkins went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fifth inning.
Jon Klein pitched six innings and allowed one earned run, four hits and three walks while striking out two.
Jake Joyce recorded his third win of the year for the Schaumburg Boomers. He allowed one run over one inning. Joyce struck out two, walked two and gave up two hits.
Steve Messner (2-3) took the loss for the Washington Wild Things. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
