The Evansville Otters (48-43) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 4-3 to the Normal CornBelters (57-34) on Tuesday.
While the Evansville Otters led until the sixth inning, the Normal CornBelters worked their way back and took the lead on a two-run double by Ozney Guillen.
Cole Brocker pitched lights out for the Normal CornBelters. The Evansville Otters managed just one hit off of the the Normal CornBelters' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his 1 2/3 innings of work.
Kevin Johnson got the win, running his season record to 8-5. He allowed three runs over six innings. Johnson struck out five, walked none and gave up seven hits.
Brett Marshall (5-2) took the loss for the Evansville Otters. He lasted just five innings, walked five, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
