The Schaumburg Boomers (36-52) didn't stand a chance on Friday, as the Gateway Grizzlies (38-49) captured a blowout 8-2 win at Schaumburg Boomers Stadium.

The Gateway Grizzlies scored three runs in the sixth on the Gateway Grizzlies scored in the sixth on a two-run error, an RBI single by Ben Waldrip, and a single by Blake Brown.

Seth Heck racked up two RBIs on four hits for the Gateway Grizzlies. He singled in the fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth innings.

Vincent Molesky struck out 10, paving the way for a the Gateway Grizzlies win. Molesky allowed two earned runs on seven hits and no walks over nine innings.

Robby Spencer was hot from the plate for the Schaumburg Boomers. Spencer went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the second and ninth innings.

Lance Phillips (0-1) took the loss for the Schaumburg Boomers. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
