The Lake Erie Crushers (27-35) came out firing, but couldn't hang on to the lead, ending up on the losing side of a 6-2 ballgame against the Traverse City Beach Bums (37-26) on Saturday at Wuerfel Park.
While the Lake Erie Crushers led until the seventh inning, the Traverse City Beach Bums worked their way back and took the lead on a three-run single by Jeff DeBlieux.
Brandon Jacobs was hot from the plate for the Traverse City Beach Bums. Jacobs went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He homered in the second inning and singled in the seventh inning.
Ian MacDougall picked up the win for the Traverse City Beach Bums. MacDougall allowed two earned runs, eight hits and no walks while striking out two over eight innings of work.
Hunter Adkins (3-5) took the loss for the Lake Erie Crushers. He allowed six runs in seven innings, walked one and struck out seven.
