Matt Sergey kept the Southern Illinois Miners (24-15) off the board during his seven innings of work and the Washington Wild Things (15-24) beat the Southern Illinois Miners, 10-1.

Sergey struck out 10 and allowed two walks and six hits.

The Washington Wild Things continued to pile on the runs until the end of the game. The Washington Wild Things scored three runs in the final three innings to cap the blowout win. A two-run double by Daniel Poma and a two-run single by Scott Kalamar helped the Washington Wild Things score four runs in the second. The Washington Wild Things had two hits in the inning.

Matt Ford racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Washington Wild Things. He singled in the third inning and homered in the seventh inning.

Matt Bywater (6-2) took the loss for the Southern Illinois Miners. He allowed seven runs in four innings, walked three and struck out four.
