Kolton Mahoney tossed seven scoreless innings to lift the Orleans Firebirds (1-0) to a 3-0 win over the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox (0-1) at Eldredge Park.

The Orleans Firebirds were led by David Fletcher's hitting. Fletcher went 3-4 and scored one run. He singled in the first, sixth, and eighth innings.

Justin Jacome was effective even in defeat, mowing down five the Orleans Firebirds batters and allowing two runs.

Jacome couldn't get it done on the mound for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox, taking a loss.
