The Rockville Express (13-9) beat the Alexandria Aces (12-9) 8-7 on Tuesday at Montgomery College behind Brandon Benson, who had two extra base hits.
He singled in the sixth inning and doubled in the third and seventh innings.Rhyan Karr got the win for the Rockville Express thanks to nine strikeouts. Karr allowed two earned runs on four hits and five walks over six innings.
Danny Bermudez paced the Alexandria Aces at the plate. Bermudez went 3-5 and scored two runs. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the sixth and eighth innings.
Levi Primasing (0-2) took the loss for the Alexandria Aces. He allowed seven runs in five innings, walked one and struck out one.
The Rockville Express were sparked by Devon Mahoney and Benson, who teamed up for four hits and four RBIs.
