Eric Tyler went 1-2, sparking the Lake Norman Copperheads (3-4) to a 3-0 victory in seven innings over the Pineville Pioneers (2-3) on Friday.

The Pineville Pioneers couldn't get anything going as long as Taylor Cox was pitching. Cox gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two during his three innings of work.

Loren DeShields got the win, running his season record to 1-0. DeShields struck out one, walked none and gave up three hits.

Chris Sheehan (0-1) took the loss for the Pineville Pioneers. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
