The Youses Orioles (16-21) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 4-2 to the Gaithersburg Giants (19-17) on Thursday.
While the Youses Orioles led until the fifth inning, the Gaithersburg Giants worked their way back and took the lead on a two-run single by Brandon Grove.
Brady Policelli led the Gaithersburg Giants' offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the fifth inning.
Brandon Estrain had an impressive outing against the Youses Orioles' lineup. Estrain held the Youses Orioles hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.
Eric Brodkowitz improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Gaithersburg Giants. He allowed two runs over six innings. Brodkowitz struck out 10, walked one and gave up eight hits.
Octavio Rodriguez was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed four runs.
