The Gaithersburg Giants (18-16) beat the Alexandria Aces (21-16) 6-2 on Tuesday at Frank Mann Field behind Ryan Thomas, who went 2-4 and hit a home run.
He homered in the second inning and singled in the eighth inning.Taylor Bloom pitched lights out for the Gaithersburg Giants. The Alexandria Aces managed just one hit off of Bloom, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five during his three innings of work.
Hunter Williams had a hot bat for the Alexandria Aces. Williams went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the sixth inning.
Korey Anderson (3-2) took the loss for the Alexandria Aces. He lasted just five innings, walked three, struck out four, and allowed five runs.
