The Hays (KS) Larks (1-0) beat the San Diego (CA) Waves (0-1) 6-3 on Saturday at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium behind Aaron Cornell, who had two extra base hits.

He singled in the second inning and doubled in the sixth and ninth innings.

Ian Bentley had an impressive outing against the San Diego (CA) Waves' lineup. The San Diego (CA) Waves managed just one hit off of Bentley, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his two innings of work.
