The Ballantyne Smokies (25-14) and the Lake Norman Copperheads (22-17) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Ballantyne Smokies that eventually took advantage of them in a 3-2 win at Ardrey Kell HS.

Taylor Fisher racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Ballantyne Smokies. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the fifth inning.

The Ballantyne Smokies' lineup had no answer for Taylor Cox. Cox held the Ballantyne Smokies hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one.

CJ Selner improved to 3-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Ballantyne Smokies. Selner struck out one, walked none and gave up three hits.

Josh Bottenfield (5-2) took the loss for the Lake Norman Copperheads. He lasted just three innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
