Justin Allen went 4-4 at the plate as the Statesville Owls (18-16) took home a 6-2 victory over the Carolina Vipers (10-24) in seven innings at East Mecklenburg HS on Saturday.
He doubled in the first inning and singled in the third, fifth, and seventh innings.Michael Massardo did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Carolina Vipers, reaching base three times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the first inning.
Tucker Beane improved to 4-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Statesville Owls. He allowed two runs over four innings. Beane struck out eight, walked six and gave up three hits.
James Dey (0-1) took the loss for the Carolina Vipers. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
