Pierce Suttles had two extra base hits as the Lake Norman Copperheads (17-13) took home a 4-2 victory over the Carolina Vipers (10-22) in seven innings at Hopewell HS on Friday.
He doubled in the second inning and homered in the fourth inning.Josh Bottenfield got the win, running his season record to 4-1. He allowed two runs over 5 2/3 innings. Bottenfield struck out two, walked two and gave up five hits.
Jorge Montes (0-1) took the loss for the Carolina Vipers. He lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked three, struck out six, and allowed four runs.
The Lake Norman Copperheads were sparked by Suttles and Daniel Stack, who teamed up for four hits and two RBIs.
